Miss Black America (Bahamas) 2018


August 2018 Ashlea Archer competed alongside 23 other talented black women from around the United States of America. 

Ashlea earned the distinction of Top Ten Talent for her rendition of the song "Stay" by the country duo Sugarland.

Ashlea also was placed Top Ten Projection for her discussion of advice she would give her younger self. The advice she gave was to never undervalue the power of reading and continuing your education.

Ashlea competed in the Business Pitch portion of the pageant and won. She discussed her idea for a mobile science profession that visited underserved, predominantly black elementary schools and demonstrated science experiments. This business is currently being developed into a nonprofit.

Ashlea ended the pageant as a Top Ten Finalist and earned the title of Miss Black America Bahamas and is a proud member of the Global SOMBA (Sisterhood of Miss Black America)
